Yuji Nishiuchi

Yuji Nishiuchi received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Osaka University in 1986 and completed his postdoctoral training under the supervision of Professor Murray Goodman at the University of California, San Diego. He joined the Peptide Institute, Osaka, to work for Professor Shumpei Sakakibara and concurrently served as a Professor at Osaka University until 2015, after which he was transferred to GlyTech, Inc., Kyoto. He has been deeply involved in the synthesis of large peptides and proteins and the development of synthetic methodologies used for solution phase as well as solid phase peptide synthesis. Currently, he is focusing on chemical glycosylation to bioactive peptides/proteins to develop glycosylated therapeutics that are superior to their parent molecules in terms of pharmacokinetic properties.
